Downeast Design is a one-man operation, owned, operated and managed completely by "Billy McDaniel".
Who is Billy McDaniel?
I am a 40 year old computer geek who recently moved from Biddeford, Maine to Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm also well known for singing and playing the guitar as well as writing articles and photographing entertainers for MaineList, an online entertainment magazine that I have owned and managed myself for the past decade. My interest in programming began at an early age. I began building web sites when the Internet was still new back in 1995.
Computers
Most of my hobbies are computer-related such as playing video games, programming in PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL and dabbling in other languages such as AJAX, C++, Javascript, and a little Flash just to name a few. I have a full understanding of the Windows Operating System, and am confident on just about all applications.
Graphics
I am also a graphics developer with a knack for art. I grew up with colored pencils, markers, paper, paint, scissors, and tape as toys. I have been drawing and creating artistic things for as long as I can remember.
Photography
So it's really no wonder that I also took up Photography in the past few years and have really accelerated forward in a bright new career with my Nikon camera. I've just began booking weddings in 2010, and absolutely love the positive emotional outlet.
Musician
I am an accomplished musician with over two decades of dedicated professional experience, with talents beyond the norm on several instruments including all forms of guitar playing, piano and keyboards. I have applied some of my musical gifts towards computing and have learned many tricks for editing music and sound, and mixing full songs with popular tools.
Writing
I have always enjoyed writing, whether fact or fiction. I have written instruction manuals, full novels, online articles, and of course website content.
Press Releases
I have saved a few interviews for local radio and newspaper articles over the years. From playing video games, to performing music in bands, and sometimes just being in the right place at the right time.
